City Services: Victoria Day 2017

May 19th, 2017 | By | Category: City News

We’re adjusting our hours of operation for the Victoria Day holiday on Monday, May 22. Here’s a list of what you need to know:

Getting around

Calgary Transit – CTrain disruptions
Over the Victoria Day long weekend (May 20-22), all downtown CTrain stations will be closed. The Red Line will be closed between Sunnyside and Victoria Park-Stampede and the Blue Line will be closed between Downtown West-Kerby and Bridgeland-Memorial stations. Shuttle buses will replace CTrain service between these stations.

For more information on fares, schedules and service changes, visit calgarytransit.com.

Road construction and paving
For information on road closures and detours visit calgary.ca/trafficinfo or learn more about long term construction projects at calgary.ca/paving.

Parking
On-street parking is free on May 22 and holiday rates will be in effect at select Calgary Parking Authority surface lots and parkades.

Around the house

City landfill hours
Our hours have changed and each landfill has moved to four-day per week operations. East Calgary Landfill is open 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. this weekend, including Victoria day. Complete landfill hours and locations are available on Calgary.ca.

Spring cleaning
The City’s annual Spring Yard Waste program runs through May 28. Drop off your leaves, branches, plants and other yard waste for free at any City landfill and pick up some free mulch for your garden while you’re there.

Community cleanups
Over 100 community cleanups are taking place from now through September. View the community cleanup schedule for events in your neighbourhood.
