Military Museum Special Exhibit: War Stories 1917

Jun 21st, 2017 | By | Category: City News

As Canada celebrates its 150th birthday, come out and celebrate some of our nations rich history. The Military Museums and its partners are proud to present “War Stories 1917”, a special exhibit in our Founders Gallery. This exhibit looks at stories from our young nations most important battles – Vimy Ridge, Passchendaele and Hill 70.

Read stories about soldiers and their experiences at these battles and see some important artifacts that hold Canada’s history within them. Along side these artifacts are local artists Jason Baerg and Adrian Stimson who have created special aboriginal art for our exhibit. Local artist and photographer Dianne Bos has a series of photos to capture the battlefields and their appearance today to compliment the stories told. This unique collaboration includes artifacts from all over including some special items on loan from the Imperial War Museum in London England. This exhibit is on until August 27 and is included with your admission price.
