Christie Residents’ Association AGM – Wednesday, April 11 @ 7pm

Feb 28th, 2018 | By | Category: Post to Facebook, SCA News

Residents of Christie Park pay a tax levy which is collected by the City of Calgary. The levy is used to enhance landscaping in Christie Park, including increased grass mowing, flower pot and flower bed planting and maintenance, litter pick-up, and weeding. Also, ongoing discussions with the City resulted in 30 new trees being planted and numerous dead or distressed trees being replaced. During the past 22 years, we contracted the City to conduct this additional work. In 2017, City Councillors voted enhanced communities such as Christie Park will be responsible for hiring and overseeing work completed by private landscape companies in their own communities beginning in 2018. This responsibility will be assumed by volunteers on the Christie Residents’ Association Board of Directors: Azad Chandler (President), Joan Sickel-Luciuk, Chris Wilks, Cameron Taylor, and Stuart Turner. The Board’s goal is to continue to oversee the beautification of Christie Park with the current tax levy and a reduction in funding from the City. At the AGM on April 11, the present Board will address the changes and answer questions about in the implementation of the enhanced landscape program.

All Christie Park residents are welcome and encouraged to attend.

The meeting will be held at the SCA CA.
