TD Park People Grants

TD Park People Grants will provide $2000 to groups from Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal to help make community events happen in parks. To qualify for this grant applicant MUST:

  • Submit an application before March 4
  • Your park must be located in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal or Halifax
  • Successful groups will host three park events between Earth Day (April 20) and New Year’s Eve 2019.
  • Demonstrate the ability to successfully organize and host events and sustain your group beyond this grant cycle.

First join the Park People Network here to register your group and then download an application form, which will be available once your group is registered. Submit the form via email to boursestdppgrants@parkpeople.ca  

Due Date:
Applications are due by the end of the day on March 4, 2019. Funding decisions will be made in April, with cheques sent in May.

Project Eligibility:
Eligible groups include volunteer-based park groups, local agencies, resident associations and non-profits that are active in their local parks.

  • Groups: Grassroots community groups that include, but are not limited to, volunteer-based park groups, local agencies, resident associations, not-for-profit groups active in their local parks. Partnerships of any or all of the above are encouraged to apply.
  • Types of Spaces: City parks, green space on social housing property, school grounds, publicly accessible privately owned properties (with permission of landowner).
  • Events: Events which are free and open to all: neighbourhood and community festivals, community picnics, tree planting events, community cleanups and any other community focused programming. Events must abide by all local laws and permit requirements.
  • Eligible Expenses: Honoraria for volunteers, event materials, supplies and equipment, printing of promotional materials with provided templates – essentially any reasonable event expense can be covered by the grant.
