The surveys on this site will change and its intent is to gather Calgarians’ thoughts on issues that arise on Council’s Agenda throughout the year. Hi Joe:
I’m a new resident to the area, having just moved into Springhaven a few weeks ago from West Hillhurst. I love the open skies and sprawling aspen groves in this area and a true feeling of community and neighbourhood. I know my husband and I will enjoy our new home here.
I am writing to find if you have information on the development plans and timing of area immediately behind my home. I live at 136 Strathlea Place SW.
I’ve been able to access a city plan from 2008 and the area of my concern is “Block 8, Zoned R1 living, from the Aspen Woods plan as this backs directly onto my new backyard.
I see earth movers are hard at it already south of 13th Avenue. I think the plans I’ve seen indicate a green space immediately behind our backyard such that homes will no back directly onto our property line, howeve this is difficult to discern. I am hoping the mature aspen trees will remain as these are such a delightful part of this area.
Do you know who I can contact for more information on the new development and construction timelines, etc.? Also, if there are community meetings scheduled for local input.
