Karate Classes – 2017
The Karate Club offers classes at the SCA Community Association for all age groups. The club is a member of Karate Canada, the official governing body of Karate, with member clubs across Canada.
Karate Kids (5 – 6 yr)
Mon Apr 03 – June 26, 6:30 – 7 pm
The class will be an Introduction to Karate for the younger children – emphasizing basic training, etiquette, discipline, and physical conditioning. It is a fun class designed to meet the needs of this age group.
Children’s Beginner Karate (7 – 12 yr)
Wed Apr 05 – June 28, 6:30 – 7:30 pm
An Introduction to Karate – emphasizing basic training, etiquette, discipline, and physical conditioning. This class will help determine if the student is prepared to pursue training to a higher level.
Parent and Child Karate (7yrs+)
Mon Apr 03 – June 28, 7 – 8:30 pm
An introduction to Karate for families – emphasizing basic training, kata (forms) and physical conditioning.
Adult Beginner Karate (13 yrs+)
Thurs Apr 06 – June 29, 8 – 9 pm
This is a beginner class for adults to introduce participants to basic blocking, punching, kicking, and the kata (forms) of the art of karate. It’s also a great way to get in shape and meet new people in the community.
In all classes, modern methods of exercise, training and coaching are encouraged through commitment to the goals of the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP), ensuring a safe environment for training.
