Vision Mate Opportunity with CNIB

Vision Mate is a one-on-one community-based companionship program that provides sighted assistance to an individual who is blind or partially sighted. Volunteers will meet for an average of 2 hours per week at a time that is mutually convenient. Together you may do a wide variety of activities including walking, exploring your community, grocery shopping, arts and crafts, socializing, reading, or helping with organizing in the home.

If you are looking to make a meaningful one-on-one connection and help someone within your community, this might be the opportunity for you!

As a Vision Mate you get the chance to be very flexible in your availability as we work around your schedule to match you up with an individual. We ask for a minimum 6-month commitment for this role.

Interested applicants for the program would be required to attend a volunteer interview and orientation, provide references, and be willing to undergo a police information/vulnerable sector check. Volunteers for this position must be 14 years or older.
