Just 15 minutes from downtown Calgary, the SCA Community Association offers flexible rental spaces with stunning city views, free parking, and room for up to 200 guests. From birthday parties and AGMs to weddings and cultural celebrations, our modern venue includes access to a full commercial kitchen, tables and chairs, and exclusive weekend rentals for weddings.

  • Our largest space at 2,700 sq ft (plus a 360 sq ft stage), the Main Hall features hardwood floors, cathedral ceilings, event lighting, and décor hooks. It can host up to 200 seated guests or 300 in theatre style, making it ideal for weddings, large gatherings, and community celebrations.

  • A cozy 700 sq ft space with a fireplace, balcony, and stunning city views—perfect for smaller gatherings of up to 30 seated, 45 theatre-style, or 59 standing.

FAQ

  • Your rental includes access to the selected room(s), tables, chairs, and free parking. Full building rentals also include access to the kitchen, bar, and all common spaces. The caretaker will assist with tables and chairs for large events.

  • Yes. Outside catering and bartenders are welcome. You’re responsible for setup, cleanup, and following Alberta Health Services food safety guidelines. For alcohol, you must obtain a liquor license and party insurance, and provide a copy to the SCA prior to your event.

  • Yes, full building rentals are required for large weddings to ensure exclusivity and access to all rooms, including the Loft and Main Hall. This is based on availability.

  • The Main Hall seats up to 200 guests. Other spaces range from intimate (Board Room, 12 people) to large gatherings (Loft, 140 theatre-style). A full list of room sizes and capacities is available in our rental brochure.

  • To book, a $600 non-refundable deposit is required. A $1,000 installment is due 6 months before your event, and the balance is due 3 months before. A $500 damage deposit is held the day before your event.

  • Yes. No open flames, helium balloons, confetti, rice, flower petals, or tacks/tape on walls. Use only painter’s tape for decor, and all decorations must be removed by the end of your rental.

  • Your setup and cleanup must happen within your rental window. Extra time can be added at an hourly rate. Additional fees apply if time is exceeded.

  • No, we do not provide any audio, microphone, or speaker equipment. Renters must bring in their own.

  • Most of the main floor is accessible. However, the Loft and second-floor rooms are not accessible, as there is no elevator in the building.

  • For large events (over 250), cancellations must be made at least 3 months in advance. Deposits are non-refundable but may be applied to a new date (less a $25 admin fee).
