About Sarah, Artistic Director:

Sarah has been teaching for over 30 years in Grande Prairie and is now in the Calgary area.  She believes in the “person first, dancer second” philosophy where they are children first that are learning to be kind and responsible adults.  She believes that all dancers have a unique dancing artistry that is to be celebrated.

Sarah began her dance training in Leduc in Highland Dance at the age of 9.  Soon after she added in ballet and of course that snowballed into tap, lyrical, modern, jazz etc.  She graduated from the Edmonton School of Ballet and was a company member of Edmonton Festival Ballet Company performing solo repertoire from Swan Lake, Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle and many amazing works by the company choreographers.

After graduation she moved to Grande Prairie where she became certified in RAD Ballet, Highland Associate, Acrobatic Arts, MUV Method as well as any course available such as Mental Health and Mindfulness programs with Lauren Ritchie, Fascia Training, Anatomy courses, Ballet Blog and Physio training with Lisa Howell.  She enjoys a path of continuous learning as she has completed her Reiki 2 Level while in Calgary.

She was a studio owner for 14 years and in her studio she had dancers ages 1 and up.  She had the biggest preschool program in Grande Prairie as her program was created with imagination, fun and love of dance.

She was also the only studio to have a “Wheels In Motion Class” that had dancers that were in a wheelchair as well as adults that had a mental impairment.  Dance is for every body not just standing ones or the young.

Sarah’s passion is for teaching and seeing dancers for the beautiful humans they are.
